How it works

An intervention is a planned conversation that helps someone accept the treatment they have been refusing. Our interventionist prepares with your family first, then guides the conversation when everyone sits down together. Most of the work happens in that preparation, and it is what makes the difference on the day.

When your loved one says yes, we are ready. The bed is held, insurance is verified, and transportation is arranged, so they can go straight to treatment.

Willow Grove Recovery accepts Ambetter, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and UnitedHealthcare. Call us and we will verify your coverage.

Common questions

Do interventions actually work?
+

Professionally facilitated interventions have a strong track record of getting people into treatment. Preparation is the main variable. Families who work with an experienced interventionist and put in the prep hours do considerably better than families who attempt it alone.

How much does an intervention cost?
+

Cost varies with travel, the size of the family, and how much follow-up is involved. Call us and we will give you real numbers for your situation rather than a range that means nothing.

Should we do it ourselves?
+

Families can and sometimes do. The risk is that everyone in the room has history with everyone else, and without a neutral person guiding it, the conversation tends to turn into an old argument. An interventionist keeps it pointed at the one thing that matters.

Who should be in the room?
+

Usually immediate family plus the handful of people whose opinion carries real weight with the person. Sometimes that is a best friend, a boss, or a grandparent. Part of the preparation is deciding together who helps and who does not.

How long does the intervention itself take?
+

The conversation is often under an hour. The preparation before it is 8 to 12 hours.
